CRM 375 - Supreme Court: Myth or Reality 3 credits Prerequisite(s): CRM 123 and CRM 220 This course is an in-depth, interactive, participatory exploration into the opinions and the rationale of the Justices who are and have been responsible for the evolution of the cultural, political and criminal justice systems of our society. The course includes a survey and case analysis of the United States Supreme Court's role in the shaping of our criminal justice system focusing on the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th and 14th Amendments to the Constitution. The course will examine whether the majority opinions of the precedent-setting cases remain relevant today or whether, as a result of the evolution of American society, they have become irrelevant.
