EME 310 - Disaster Response and Recovery

3 credits
This course will explore various principles and practices related to disaster response and recovery operations.  Students will examine the nature, prevalence, and consequences of disasters, as well as hazard types and their interaction with each other.   The course will also explore the role and responsibilities of local, State, and federal government agencies, NGOs, and citizen volunteers, and why coordination and collaboration is essential for achieving success.  Various approaches to response and recovery operations will be examined, to include strategies and programs for facilitating mitigation.
