EME 420 - Fire and Emergency Services Administration

3 credits
This course is a progressive primer for students for students interested in fire and emergency services administration.  The course focuses on various skills necessary for managing and leading a fire and emergency services department in the 21st Century.  These include persuasion and influence, accountable budgeting, anticipation of challenges and the need for change, and using specific management tools for analyzing and solving problems.  An important component of the course is how the leadership of a fire and emergency services department develops internal and external cooperation to create a coordinated approach for achieving the department's mission.
