EDU 228 - Educational Technology 3 credits Prerequisite(s): Sophomore standing required The three-credit course introduces the student to the effective integration of various technologies to engage and support meaningful learning within the educational setting. Reflecting the principles of the TPACK Model (Technological, Pedagogical, and Content Knowledge), the course reflects a constructivist view of teaching and learning. The uses of technology tools are explored through themes including inquiring, experimenting, writing, modeling, visualizing, and assessing. Specific topics pertinent to K-12 teachers are also addressed such as digital citizenship, Internet safety, copyright/fair use, and the use of assistive technologies to support learning.
