HON 160 - First Year Seminar I

3 credits


This is a variable-content course that prepares students to participate fully in the life of the Honors Program. The course primarily emphasizes the analytical skills required to succeed at Honors-level academic work, especially critical thinking, productive dialogue on controversial questions, synthesis of multiple points of view, the use of credible sources, and logical arguments. Whenever possible, the course will be team-taught and will adopt an interdisciplinary approach. Course content will align with the major themes of the program related to global citizenship. The course will integrate some form of experiential learning. This course also satisfies the SLU101 requirement for campus students.
